India's Top Bookmarking site to be incorporated into Indya.com

Bombay - Indya.com Bombay based company announced that it has acquired the assets of BestOfIndya privately held company.Under terms of the agreement BestOfIndya.com's development, support and sales teams will become part of Indya.com

We are excited to be part of Indya.com said owner of BestOfIndya. "By incorporating our site into Indya.com's site, we will be able to take advantage of their broad user base and augment our position in the marketplace."

BestOfIndya is offline because of problem with hosting at GoDaddy

GoDaady.com has suspended Bestofindya hosting account temporarily, for excessive usage of resources (Finally got the reason for disabling account through e-mail) and I am working on sorting out the issue and BestOfIndya should be online as soon as issue is sorted out.

It's great that traffic has increased and BestOfIndya needs more resource, but they should have given time to migrate instaead of just disabling the account. (text of their mail is pasted below)

New Features Announcement

We are very pleased to announce more new features on http://bestofindya.com/.

We now have added whole new section for Images. We already have good collection of Images in both Categorized section and User Contributed section. If you want to help build categorized content please contact us and we can work together to build useful content and you will be suitably rewarded.

Also now you can get the HTML code (like embed code in youtube) for Pictures, Video and even stories on BestOfIndya from embed link under summary and under description on story page and share the code on your blog, MySpace, Orkut scraps , and other social networking profile page.

As we announced earlier we are rewarding top two users (based on karma) with spots on our 'Top Contributers' sidebar section to advertise their own blog. We are still working on fine tuning karma calculation and it will be based on Number of Contributions, Number Of Votes given to others articles, Number Of Contributions getting published, Number Of Comments made on articles etc..

Please remember to add your Blog to our new Featured Blogs section, by clicking on 'Submit Blog' and using your root blog URL as the story link. All the articles you have submitted on BestofIndya will be listed under your Blog Entry automatically. Afterwards, users can sort all your posted stories under your blog by most popular, newest and title.

New Features Announcement

We are very pleased to announce more new features on http://bestofindya.com/.

We now have the capability to group sub-links under a main link and using this feature we have created four new categories.

1. Movies
2. Stars
3. Featured Blogs
4. Live TV

At this point adding content in the above aggregated content categories is not open to everone. If you can help build such content please contact us and we can work together to build useful content and contributers will be suitably rewarded.

Starting from August 15th we will be rewarding the top two users (based on karma) with spots on our 'Top Contributers' sidebar section to advertise their own blog. If the top users don't submit an ad to place we will suitably reward and next two top bloggers to take that spot. We are still working on fine tuning karma calculation and it will be based on Number of Contributions, Number Of Votes given to others articles, Number Of Contributions getting published, Number Of Comments made on articles etc..

BestOfIndya - Announcement

We are very pleased to announce some great new features on http://bestofindya.com/. Listening to your requests, we have added lots of categories and subcategories under News. All previous posts have been re-indexed. We have now added two new and exciting sections: Video and Review, with many categories and subcategories. Already, you can find many great Indian videos under each category.

For playing videos inline, currently we only support YouTube videos, but we will support the rest shortly. To submit Videos, all you have to do is provide us with the URL of the video (YouTube for now) and we take care of embedding it and showing the tite/description automatically.

As always, Share, Promote and Profit from submitting articles, videos or reviews in our new sections and categories. Thank you for your support and keep voting to help make the best stand out.

BestOfIndya is a social bookmarking site was launched on March 31st 2007 to facilitate Information/Link sharing among users.
